Anchorage's Clark Mishler is one serious photographer. We were plenty impressed a few months ago when we swooped into his studio en route to a party and he made our favorite pregancy portrait in under 10 minutes. Last Sunday evening, we stopped by for round two.
This shoot was made more complicated by the fact that Ari was on the outside, not the inside of Yael's belly. All afternoon we fed Ari and let him rest, hoping he'd be awake and wide-eyed for the evening shoot. But all afternoon, Ari would not close his eyes; he was as cute and alert as could be. It was only when we got in the car to go to Clark's studio that he decided to collapse into a deep unwakeable slumber--from which he refused to be roused.
We apologized to Clark. But his response was, "No problem. Everyone thinks the baby's eyes have to be wide open to make a good portrait...not true." We were a little dubious, but once again, Clark showed us why he's a master. Here are a few more portraits from the shoot (click to enlarge them). Also, here's Clark's website.

How can there be no comments on this log entry?!! The pix are just gorgeous!!
You guys look so happy!
My fave is the one where Ari is kinda awake going 'what the heck is going on here' and you guys look quite bemused! :)
